Kale and Pineapple Smoothie

Maybe the ingredients are a bit unusual and you probably never thought about having kale for breakfast, but this is exactly the kind of smoothie that will fire off your metabolism and give you an energy boost while providing you with plenty of calcium, antioxidants and fibers to last you until lunch the very least.

Yield 1 serving
 Ingredients
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 2 kale leaves
  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/2 cup pineapple chunks
  • 1 cup coconut or almond milk
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes

 

 Method
  1. Combine all the ingredients in a Nutribullet and process for 30-40 seconds or until well blended and smooth.
  2. Pour in glasses and serve chilled. Kale can be replaced with spinach if you prefer the taste of the latter.
